Gwendolyn Greetings,

Welcome to the Gainesville Alumnae Chapter’s website! Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an international public service organization committed to the principles of sisterhood, scholarship and service. Twenty-four years ago, forty (40) visionary women chartered this chapter to further enhance the reach of the Sorority into the Gainesville, Florida community. To that end, the Gainesville Alumnae Chapter provides an array of public service programs including scholarships for eligible high school seniors, the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy – a mentoring program for middle school girls, senior citizens events, cultural enrichment activities for our youth, an annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge and support for Habitat for Humanity.

As we go into our new Sororal year in High Definition, GAC style, we will continue our journey to impact and enrich the lives of those around us. Over seventy (70) Sorors call GAC home and I could not be more proud to have been elected to lead this dynamic chapter.

It is my wish that the programming we provide at GAC will help you in your daily pursuits. If you are a new soror to the area and looking to engage a local chapter, or if you are a community based individual or organization and believe that we, as a chapter, can provide assistance to you, please contact us. As we all move in the fast paced global society, there is much work to be done and it’s only through partnerships between members, friends, supporters and the community that we are able to continue to serve God’s people in the Gainesville area.
